These are your favourite Afrobeats songs of 2019, this countdown is base on our feedback from our viewers and our listeners. We looked at Spotify, Apple and Youtube views, took all that together and came up with this hit list, you really need this list. But before we do that, we forgot how we can forget? I’m Kess and I am Big Tunes in the building, the loud one.

10. TimayaBalance

This song was obviously one of those songs with a hot beat and nice little flow that you can vibe with without sweating too much, also the lyrics are very typical of Timaya, rags to riches. Nice jam we love it and made it to the countdown, that’s it for number 10.

9. TENI - Billionaire

At number 9 it’s your girl Teniola with Billionaire, yeah I love this song. It is very interesting to see that Teni who just kind of came into the limelight in the last 2 years made to the top 10 for this year, I really respect her hustle and she is the only female. You go girl keep doing your thing we see you congratulations on making the top 10 songs for 2019. And  I love the line ”I want to be on Forbes list if wishes were horses…”

8.  Naira Marley – Soapy

Your number 8 song is none other than your boy the king of the street, Naira Marley with Soapy. I’m a Marlian in fact the president and I am so happy that this made it to the countdown. Soapy at number 8, I love this jam, remember if you haven’t seen that episode with lyrics breakdown you need to check it out here.

7. Larry Gaga– Low

At number 7, we have Larry Gaga with my boy Wizkid, it is a very slow jam which is typical to Wizkid kind of music, the whine and dance kind of jam. I love it and he made it to the countdown.

6. Joeboy – Baby

Joeboy is a new artist, one of the top new artists that came out in the Afrobeats single this year. He actually came out under Mr Eazi emPawa platform, if you don’t know about that go check it out.  emPawa is a platform to elevate young and upcoming artist. This is a great song, we actually had a tough time picking this song because there was Beginning, Don’t call me back with Mayorkun, so he had a lot of hits this year but base on statistics, ‘Baby’ made the cut.

5. Fireboy –Jealous

Interestingly, he actually wrote this song about an ex-girlfriend who he had a lot of situation with, if you listen to the lines he is kind of stalking her. It is interesting when the song came out,  people thought the name was called addiction, blogs actually reported the songs as ‘addiction’ but it is Jealous which goes back to the lyrics and him being in a situation with his ex and he decided to write a song. We love the song and it was a hit track from Fireboy. Fireboy is under Olamide record label YBNL, kudos to Olamide always using his platform to promote a new artist and elevate people.

4.   Rema- Dumebi

At number 4 we have Rema’s Dumebi, which have a nice rhythm. I think this song was a jam for 2019 and he was on the Obama playlist this year, his song ‘Ironman’ from his debut album made it to the Obama 2019 playlist that’s huge. You can think of the way our music is crossing the boarders it is really amazing. Finally, shout out to Don jazzy for doing his thing on this kid, I love what he is doing with him.

3. Burna Boy- Anybody

Burna Boy decided to come on the list in a big way. What else can we say about Burna Boy like he is like ‘the ambassador’. Check out our Dyesek lyrics show, Episode one, ‘Anybody’ is right there.

 2. Kizz Daniel- Madu

This track killed it on the dance floor all year round. Kizz Daniel honestly is one of the most consistent artists in Nigeria and has made it to the 2019 countdown at number 2 that’s huge! Kiss Daniel keep giving us the hits.

1. Burna Boy Ft Zlatan – Killin Dem

If anyone is surprised with the no.1, you were obviously sleeping the entire year, because this track was all over, it crossed borders, these guys performed it everywhere. It actually killed everybody. If you don’t agree with this song as number 1, you actually don’t deserve Christmas. Lol.
