“King of Love” - Kizz Daniel is not new to the music industry for releasing hit songs that get you singing out loud, bumping your head, and moving your body at the same time. This Afrobeats artist has a beautiful lyrical direction with his songs. What do you expect from an artist that released a whole album with “No Bad Songz”?

Kizz released a widely successful debut album, New Era, and went on to release “No Bad Songz” after his controversial split from his former Label. Now he comes with his third studio album, his first album under EMPIRE, “King of Love”.

This award-winning hitmaker has blessed our ears with “Laye”, “Yeba”, and “Madu” amongst others. “King of Love” as the title of this 17-track album is appropriate because Kizz Daniel has spent much of his career creating songs that resonate with different relationships. Think of the stark contrast between “Mama” and “One Ticket” that features chart-topping Afropop artiste, Davido.

No doubt his music has evolved but Kizz has also gotten used to releasing solo albums with no artist featured. This hasn’t hurt the success of his work in any way.

“King of Love” features already known hit songs like his recently released soulful and inspirational tune, “Jaho”. Kizz featured his famous hit track, “Fvck You” released in 2019 that caused a social media revolt on cheating spouses. Several artists and even comedians jumped on creating “Fvck You” covers. The album also featured “Pak and Go” with the court scene visuals also released in 2019.

He had 11 producers work on this album: Qasebeatz, Young John, Coublon, Philkeyz, Krizbeatz, Major Banggz, TY Mix, One Sound, ATG, RunTinzBeatz and Teflon Zing.

This album is full of storytelling, Kizz Daniel kept revealing a little bit of himself and his experiences. He also tried to infused his opinion on various subject matters.

The track “Ada”, brings good news of a man ready to take home his lover and a man keeping his relationship a secret because “Boys are Bad”.

‘Wear your dress, wear your shoe’, get ready for a date because Kizz Daniel says “We Dey Comot”. Then he goes ahead to show us a lover reassuring his lover that they‘re “Aii” meaning they’re alright. Try asking a girl out with a whole song with “Need Somebody”.

Things get tough with getting lifetime imprisonment for getting into a relationship with a materialistic lady. “Tempted to Steal” produced by TY Mix is an emotional track that reveals the heart of a man desperate to please his woman. Kizz switches things up with a tune like “Chek” asking us to just dance.

Taking out a moment to praise himself, Kizz Daniel requests you Google him and know who Vado is in “Yapa”. Sampling Obesere’s “Egungun be Careful” in the intro of this track, Kizz delivers “One Day” beautifully to apologize to a lady he hurt in the past.

Kizz Daniel spoke his mind in “Find a Bae” and reveals he got his flirty behavior from his Dad but his Mum wants him to find a bae as he’s almost 30. This song requires a listening ear as he bares his struggle in finding the right one. However, in “Padi” a dancehall tune by Kizz tries to steal his Padi’s bae. Interesting right?

“Chana” woos a beautiful woman and vows to choose her over any other lady. Vado uses “Pipa” to teach an important life lesson, he says ‘keep your friends and enemies close with a little bit of attention’.  This album wraps up with “Hook” has a Ghanaian ring to it but it’s a mellow yet a danceable track. Kizz Daniel ends this track with an “I love you and thanks for supporting” to his fans.

We rate this album an 8.5 over 10. Have you listened to the album? What's your favorite track and how do you rate this album? Let us know.
