YBNL Crooner Fireboy DML is one Afrobeats artist that is gradually gaining grounds in the music industry both nationally and globally. He has always had a way of getting the attention of fans through beautifully written lyrics, unique sound and strong visuals.

Fireboy released his debut album “Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps” towards the end of 2019, a single like “Jealous,”  brought him nominations for awards in Nigeria and across Africa in which Jealous won the Listener's Choice at SoundCity MVP Awards. This album definitely put him in the heart of his fans.

Apollo” is his highly anticipated second album is here; this is coming nine months after the first and this, however, shows that he is not here to play. “Apollo” is a 17-track album that talks about ‘evolution, growth, love and pain’ according to the artiste.

This album was executively produced by YBNL C.E.O and recording artist Olamide, other producers who worked on the album include Pheelz, Type A, iAmBeatz, P.Priime. Fireboy featured stars like YBNL Boss Olamide, Mavin Veteran artiste Wande Coal and American rapper and songwriter D Smoke.

The Intro of the album started with “Champ” produced by Pheelz, it had a nice American like beat with his strong vocals where he was telling us he's a champion despite the ups and downs he has faced, he featured American Rapper, D Smoke. In “Spell” Fireboy tells a story about a lady that has cast a spell on him and he can’t seem to get her off his mind, he featured the legendary Wande Coal, it was a beautiful collaboration.

‘She got me like Jah Eli Jah’ that’s exactly how this girl makes him feel in “Eli” where he begs to be rescued from Delilah. He goes ahead to tell his lover that he wants to be a “Tattoo” on her body and wants to stick to her forever.

Fireboy reminds us of Lionel Richie of the 90s in “Favorite Song” which sounded like an old school Jamz. “Can I have a kiss one time?...” was how he felt after he met a “New York City Girl” on a summer trip he took to NYC. He changes the tune in “Lifestyle” where he speaks about haters and appreciates those that saw greatness in him.

Life can be filled with so much pressure and it can be so tiring, “Airplane Mode” produced by Type A talks about too many pressures from family and friends that makes you sometimes want to be alone and away from everyone. He switches tune, however, where he speaks about loving someone that leads you on only for you to realize you are dating yourself in “Dreamer.”

Fireboy teaches us about life here when he tells us how there are always enemies around us but it will pay us better if they loved us from “Afar.” Feelings don’t just stop easily, it takes time this was what he meant in “Go Away”, he tells us this feeling can be painful especially when your greatest fear is not been loved in return.

Taking it a notch higher, Fireboy DML switches to dancehall and tells us to party like it’s our last in “Friday Feeling.” God Only Knows” speaks about his regrets in a past relationship and wishes he can retrace his steps. This album ends with “Remember Me”,  he uses a cool but danceable sound and he tells us to live something behind to be remembered by because ‘Life is like a song, it doesn’t just go on and on. There is an end to everything.’
